All subsequent versions have been remakes of this movie with
Boris Karloff. Karloff plays the titular mummy who is raised to death by a group
of archaeologists after they read his curse tablet. Ten years pass and the mummy
Imhotep seeks out the children of his “saviors” and gives them the location of
his one true love Anaksunamun. When he meets the young woman Helen he is
convinced that she is the reincarnation of his beloved and intends to kill her
so that he can make her his eternal bride. The movie has been remade four times
with three of those remakes having consequent sequels.
