Touch Not the Cat by Mary Stewart

Touch Not the Cat is an interesting book. Our main character, Bryony, has the "Sight", a psychological ability to sense when something is amiss and the ability to communicate with at least one of her cousins. Since childhood they have communicated by telepathy, but she doesn't know which of her cousins is her "lover". All she knows is that there is something fishy about her father's death and if she and her lover are to survive they must find each other and overcome her father's murderer before he murders them as well. There is also some reference to Romeo and Juliet that plays throughout the entire story, and there may or not be a ghost running around. If there is one, he is not a central part of the plot and Bryony just seems to get messages from someone besides her lover every once and a while. This is not one of Mary Stewart's better books, but it is still an amusing story and well worth the read. This book is available in paperback from both Amazon and Barnes and Noble.
