This movie starring Tobey Maguire has all the hallmarks of the classic Spiderman. Nerdy Peter Parker gets bitten by a radioactive spider and becomes a superhero over night. Uncle Ben dies. The Green Goblin shows up. Unlike subsequent Spiderman movies, Maguire’s Peter Parker creates his own spider silk and doesn’t need machines to do it. We also have Mary Jane in this version. A fun movie from before we had to make superhero movies so serious.
