Autobots Mourn Too by The Assassin’s Pen

Set shortly after the end of the first movie, this one shot basically goes over the differences between how humans and autobots mourn. Sam thinks they should mourn more like he does and Optimus Prime tells him that they are mourning, they just don’t do it the same way as humans. It’s really a great story.

The Voyage Home (1986)

The one with the whales J. Taking place shortly after they find Spock, the crew of the Enterprise is heading back to earth to pay for disobeying orders in order to save Spock. But before they can get to earth an alien probe is sent to earth to find out what happened to the humpback whales. Answer, humans killed them all. The aliens are devastating the planet as they try to get an answer. The crew of the Enterprise go back in time to find some humpback whales in order to answer the probe. An environmental message along with being just a great story!

Cinder by Marissa Meyer

A dystopian Cinderella retelling and the first book in the Lunar chronicles. Cinder is a cyborg and works in a repair shop. Being a cyborg she doesn’t really have autonomy fitting into the whole Cinderella must work for her stepmother even though this is the future thing. One day, Prince Kai comes to her shop for help repairing one of his favorite droids. The book doesn’t end though with the traditional Cinderella ending, but continues through the rest of the series with books based on Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, and Snow White. I love a good retelling (especially if it’s Cinderella) and fully enjoyed this book.

Buck Rogers in the 25th Century (1979-1981)

In the year 1987 Captain Buck Rogers is piloting a space shuttle that encounters an unexpected space phenomenon and is frozen for 504 years. He returns to a greatly changed earth where he has to not only learn to survive but protect earth from the Draconians. It was a fun story and deserving of a watch!
